Ceiba Foods Latin Market Recalls Requesón Cheese in Connection With Clover Hill Recall

Ceiba Foods Latin Market recalled certain requesón cheese products tied to an earlier Clover Hill Dairy recall, linking the action to confirmed listeria findings. The recall covers specific requesón items, including products sold under the La Colonia and Selectos Latinos brands. According to the FDA, a second environmental sample from Clover Hill Dairy tested positive for listeria and matched the outbreak strain; earlier, six cheese samples had shown the same result. Distribution reached retailers and restaurants in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. As of June 24, the FDA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported 12 listeria cases, including 10 hospitalizations and one death.
