Certain 4-ounce fruit puree pouches marketed toward children are being recalled due to a possible presence of soft, food-grade plastic. The recall covers Pumpkin Tree Peter Rabbit Organics Banana & Strawberry puree pouches with specific packaging identifiers, according to a notice shared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The agency said the issue may stem from an internal packaging defect that could leave “a strand of soft, food-grade plastic” in the finished product. The pouches were sold nationwide at Kroger, Meijer, and Target stores between March 6 and July 13 of this year. The affected items can be identified by a barcode of 8 15367 01078 0, lane number A with a “4” printed nearby, and best-before dates including 01/19/2027, 01/20/2027, 03/17/2027, 03/18/2027, 05/14/2027 or 05/15/2027. The recall was voluntary after the company PT Organics was alerted by its packaging supplier, and no injuries were reported.
