Donations can have double the impact at NWGA Hunger Ministries
Northwest Georgia Hunger Ministries says donations made between Oct. 29 and Dec. 31 can double in impact thanks to a one-time matching gift of up to $100,000. President Lindsey Fisher said an anonymous donor will match community contributions dollar-for-dollar until Dec. 31, 2026, illustrating the effect with a target example: if the nonprofit raises $100,000 in Rome, Georgia, the donor would add another $100,000. Fisher linked the need to rising holiday food prices and inflation, noting increased demand for services such as a food pantry and Backpack Buddies. The nonprofit purchases food at about 15 to 16 cents per pound, giving it greater buying power than grocery stores. Donations can be made online at HungerMinistries.org, by mail to P.O. Box 1071, or in person at its facility on E. Callahan Street, but donors must specify the match program.
