Liverpool make transfer U-turn after latest midfielder decision
Liverpool have made a transfer U-turn on Curtis Jones after an updated midfield decision. The 25-year-old attracted interest from Inter Milan, which reportedly made a late enquiry in January, and later submitted a £21m offer during the summer. Liverpool rejected that bid, valuing Jones at around £35m and saying they will not sanction an exit for less. Although Jones has one year remaining on his contract, Paul Gorst of the Liverpool Echo said Liverpool’s stance has shifted toward keeping him, with talks potentially re-opened with his representatives. The report also noted links with Nottingham Forest after their £116m windfall from selling Elliot Anderson to Manchester City, but Liverpool are unlikely to deal cheaply. The future hinges on whether new coach Andoni Iraola can provide more playing time.
