Meta Launches Seller App: Photo-to-Listing AI Hits Facebook Marketplace
Meta launched the Seller app, integrating photo-to-listing AI into Facebook Marketplace as the platform marked its tenth anniversary Friday. The free, standalone iOS tool generates a complete listing after a user uploads a photo, producing a title, description, suggested price, and category using Meta’s Llama-powered multimodal AI. Meta said the app is available now for U.S. users aged 18 and older, while Android and a web experience are in testing. The article explains that the vision encoder, built on Llama 4, analyzes the image in one multimodal pass, replacing earlier systems that used separate text and image pipelines. It also describes pricing as locally real-time by surfacing comparable active listings in a seller’s geographic area, a feature Meta positions as a Marketplace data advantage. The update targets “power sellers.”
