Largest Unserved Market: Los Angeles Welcomes EgyptAir After More Than 2 Decades

EgyptAir resumes long-haul service to Los Angeles, marking a significant expansion after more than two decades. The thrice-weekly Cairo–Los Angeles service operates on an Airbus A350-900 configured for 330 seats, with 30 in business and 310 in economy. Nonstop flights cover about 14 hours 50 minutes, departing Cairo as MS983 at 8:30 a.m. and arriving in Los Angeles at 1:20 p.m.; the return, MS984, departs L.A. at 5:25 p.m. and lands in Cairo the following day after about 13 hours 45 minutes. The first flight touched down this week, revitalizing a Cairo–Los Angeles connection last served in 2001. Chicago service will begin in June, with three weekly rotations on the same aircraft.
