Premium economy is getting better, but is it actually worth the price?
xCruzo Brief
Emirates says its premium economy will get tangible upgrades on newly delivered Airbus A350 aircraft, including electrically operated adjustable privacy screens, wireless charging, and a USB-C socket. The Safran-designed seat also adds a tray-table slot to hold a phone upright and a U-Dream headrest that splits into three with side wings that fold down for improved support. The seat reclines into a cradle, allowing recline outside take-off and landing without disrupting the passenger behind. The legrest is also electric. Privacy is a real improvement, but the move doesn’t erase the gap to business class, and Emirates hasn’t retrofitted older seats.
