Russian diesel to enter US market 15-20 days after signing contracts
Russian diesel is expected to reach the US market 15–20 days after contract signing, according to Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak. Speaking to Vesti, Novak said the US Department of Energy has identified counterparties and buyers, and negotiations on commercial terms are underway ahead of contract approval. Once the agreements are signed, deliveries would begin to US markets within the 15–20 day window, while exports to nearer global markets would reportedly take less time. Novak linked the flow to a policy shift, saying the Russian government lifted diesel export restrictions the next day after a phone call and agreement between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. He cited planned volumes: 500,000 tons in October and 1 million tons each in November and December, totaling 3.5 million tons by year-end for world markets.
