Satoshi Statue in Vienna: Where to Find It and What It Means | Trending Topics
A new Satoshi Nakamoto statue is being unveiled in Vienna on Wednesday at 5 p.m. in Viertel Zwei, Vienna’s second district, where the association Bitcoin Austria plans a global series of 21 sculptures across 21 countries. The figure, placed by the lake near the OMV building Hoch Zwei, is designed to reflect Bitcoin’s creator anonymity: it shows a programmer at a laptop and uses 61 mirror-polished stainless-steel profiles over a Corten-steel base. At about 90 centimeters tall, the design “dissolves” from the front but looks recognizable from the side; viewing from behind makes the observer appear in Satoshi’s position. The project marks Bitcoin Austria’s 15th anniversary and is funded by more than 120 donors between Dec. 2025 and Aug. 2026. The article also links the statue to the Italian artist Valentina Picozzi’s Satoshi Gallery project.
