Global markets opened the week with a cautiously firmer tone after weaker U.S. employment data reduced expectations for an additional Federal Reserve rate increase this month. Still, high Treasury yields and worries about France’s public finances kept U.S. and European index futures mixed. Around 06:15 GMT, S&P 500 futures were down 0.09% at 7,770.25 and Dow futures slipped 0.13% to 51,411, while Nasdaq futures were little changed (+0.03% to 31,071.25). In Europe, DAX futures fell 0.18% to 25,383 and Euro Stoxx 50 futures declined 0.29%. Asian equities rallied, with Japan’s Nikkei 225 up about 2.1% and Taiwan also gaining, while Hong Kong edged lower.
