Stocks nudge higher as SpaceX, Tesla and Nvidia climb

U.S. stocks edged higher Wednesday, with gains in SpaceX, Tesla and Nvidia helping offset investor disappointment tied to Netflix and AT&T. The S&P 500 rose 0.2% and was on track for a third straight modest advance. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 47 points, or 0.1%, by 10 a.m. Eastern, while the Nasdaq climbed 0.7%. SpaceX jumped 11.2% after reporting summer profits above analysts’ expectations. Elon Musk also said SpaceX is considering a potential merger with Tesla. Tesla rose 3.8% ahead of its quarterly results later Wednesday.
