These Meme Coins Steal the Show as Bitcoin Defends $64K Support: Weekend Watch
Bitcoin edged up on Saturday evening, after US President Donald Trump halted planned attacks on Iran, pushing the price to $64,500 before retreating slightly. The move followed a volatile week: bitcoin fell from around $65,000 to $63,750 at the start of last Monday, defended the $64K area, and then gained about $2,000 by day’s end. It later rose toward $67,000 on some exchanges for a monthly high before slipping below $65,000 on Thursday, with another breakout attempt on Friday capped near $65,750. On Saturday, bitcoin held above $64,000 and climbed to $64,500 after Trump ordered the US military to stand down while awaiting resumed talks between Iran and Oman. Its market capitalization returned to about $1.290 trillion on CG, and dominance increased to nearly 57%. In meme coins, Shiba Inu surged more than 35% to a two-month peak, while PEPE gained 9.6% on the day and 26% over the past month. Dogecoin rose 5.8% to $0.073 and VVV jumped 12% to $14.5, while ETH stayed close to $1,900.
