TMC's Aroop Biswas misses third police notice for Messi probe, remains untraceable

Investigators with Bidhannagar Dakshin police are probing irregularities surrounding a Messi event at Salt Lake Stadium on December 13 last year. An FIR filed May 17 accuses Aroop Biswas, a former Bengal sports minister and TMC leader, of ticket black-marketing, extortion, cheating and criminal intimidation connected to the match. Police issued a third notice to Biswas on Saturday, directing him to appear within 48 hours at the Bidhannagar Dakshin station; the deadline expired at noon on Monday, and officials say Biswas did not attend and remains untraceable. The Calcutta High Court had previously granted him conditional protection from coercive action while ordering cooperation with the inquiry.
