Years -- now see what the experts say about the IAG share price
IAG’s share price has risen 200% over five years, but the article questions whether the recovery can keep accelerating. The airline group, owner of British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus and Vueling, posted a €4.4bn operating loss in 2020 and raised €2.75bn from shareholders as the pandemic grounded flights. After travel demand rebounded, IAG’s shares surged, though the pace has slowed: up 7.5% over the last year. It cites the war in Iran as a disruptor of routes and a driver of higher jet fuel costs. About 70% of fuel is hedged for the rest of 2026 and around 40% for 2027, with management expecting to recover about 60% of higher fuel costs. The piece says IAG trades around seven times earnings, while analysts surveyed by consensus set a one-year target of 528p.
