A’ja Wilson won the AP WNBA Player of the Year for an unprecedented third straight season, collecting 15 of 17 first-place votes. She edged Olivia Miles of Minnesota and Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell of Indiana. It marked Wilson’s fourth AP Player of the Year award overall, breaking a tie with Breanna Stewart for the most since the awards began in 2016. The AP voting is conducted by a 17-member panel tied to its weekly power poll, with the WNBA’s postseason awards set to follow during the playoffs beginning Sunday. Wilson led the league with 26.2 points, nearly 53% shooting, 9.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.9 blocks. Angel Reese was named Defensive Player of the Year.
