Aaron Rodgers, Kenneth Walker III address Eagles' handling of Jalen Hurts blood clot situation: 'That's crazy' - CBS Sports
Jalen Hurts is expected to miss the remainder of the 2026 regular season after being ruled out indefinitely with blood clots in his lungs, prompting NFL-wide reaction. The Philadelphia Eagles faced scrutiny over how the team handled the situation leading into their Week 5 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. A superficial clot was found in Hurts’ calf during a team walkthrough, and Hurts ultimately played that game before flying back to the United States. After additional testing stateside, he was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis and bilateral pulmonary emboli. The NFL said the process that led to Hurts playing in Week 5 “was handled appropriately,” while the NFLPA called for further investigation. Kansas City’s Kenneth Walker III said it was “crazy” and urged staying positive, based on his own past experience with blood clots in high school. Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers echoed concern and said he wasn’t surprised given past disputes with the NFL’s medical staff. Commissioner Roger Goodell said he welcomes an investigation but that protocols were followed, emphasizing Hurts’ health and future.
