Alpha Special Operations Centre has destroyed hundreds of air defence systems and claims to be inflicting 20% casualties on infantry, according to Ukraine’s Security Service reporting. Marking the unit’s 32nd anniversary, the SSU said “Alpha” is among the most effective in the Defence Forces, topping rankings for the past three months in neutralizing enemy personnel and equipment using unmanned systems. The SSU, citing statements by acting head Yevhen Khmara, reported daily losses for Russian troops at the front and “deep behind enemy lines.” It also cited cumulative destruction since the start of the full-scale war: 1,896 tanks, 3,458 armoured combat vehicles, 344 multiple launch rocket systems, 3,952 artillery systems, and 649 air defence systems, plus more than 540 electronic warfare and reconnaissance systems and many drones and ground robots. The unit is described as operating on Russian territory, targeting energy and military infrastructure, including facilities such as the Moscow oil refinery and the Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez site. Separate SSU mentions link Alpha to Operation “Spider’s Web,” where 41 Russian aircraft were said to have been destroyed, totaling claimed losses above $7 billion. The SSU also highlights honors awarded to members.
