Ghana’s GFA President Kurt Okraku said the Black Stars showed “resilience and promise” at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, even after exiting in the Round of 32. Ghana’s fifth World Cup campaign finished with a 1-0 loss to Colombia in the knockout stage, closing out a tournament in which the four-time African champions reached the last 32 for the first time since 2010. The team started with a 1-0 win over Panama and held England to a 0-0 draw. A 2-1 defeat to Croatia left Ghana on four points but still advancing. Okraku spoke at the GFA’s 32nd Ordinary Congress in Prampram and said preparations will resume for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers during September’s international window.
