Broncos' Sean Payton addresses Jonathan Taylor trade rumors
Sean Payton downplayed reports linking the Broncos to Colts star running back Jonathan Taylor during a Nov. 2 call with reporters. When asked about Denver’s interest in Taylor and other offensive targets, Payton said he and GM George Paton will focus on improving the roster, but he wouldn’t answer “internet gossip.” The Denver Post reported that the Broncos have checked in with Indianapolis about Taylor, though they inquire about multiple players throughout the year. Indianapolis has reportedly made major moves in advance of the trade deadline, including trading guard Quenton Nelson and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, and is now open to dealing Taylor. Taylor said Oct. 29 he hasn’t heard anything and can’t control circumstances. Reports say the Colts want a major package of draft picks, rejecting an offer that included a 2027 second-round pick and an additional selection.
