Brother of NFL star Calais Campbell charged with their mother's murder
The brother of NFL star Calais Campbell charged with their mother’s murder reports an arrest in Atlanta tied to the killing of a woman in her home. Ciarre Campbell, identified as the brother of Baltimore Ravens defensive end Calais Campbell, was charged Tuesday with murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a knife, according to the Atlanta Police Department. The arrest warrant links the charges to the alleged killing of Nateal Campbell, 71, who was found dead at her residence after officers responded to a welfare check on Monday from a “concerned family member.” Lt. Christopher Butler said officers arrived to find Nateal Campbell’s body. Ciarre Campbell’s arraignment was pending, and his attorney, Jay Abt, told WSB that he is innocent until proven guilty and asked the public to respect the family’s privacy. Calais Campbell’s family issued a statement to ESPN seeking privacy while noting the death of Nateal Campbell is under investigation.
