Cape Henlopen wins thriller, tops Sept. 18 Delaware HS football roundup

Cape Henlopen erased a 17-point lead and still won a thriller on Sept. 18, defeating Lake Forest 31-24 with a touchdown run by quarterback Jameson Tingle at 1:44 left. Tingle delivered a complete performance for Cape, a Class 3A No. 4 team now 3-0, passing for 141 yards and two touchdowns, rushing for 54 and two more scores, making 11 tackles, throwing a 37-yard punt downed at the 2, and intercepting Lake Forest’s final pass. He also scored on a 1-yard run after Lake Forest’s Nolan Ellwanger cut it to 24-17 at halftime. Lake Forest dropped to 1-1.
