Celtics' Hugo Gonzalez Is NBA's Preseason MVP According to One Metric

The Boston Celtics may have the NBA’s preseason MVP early on, at least according to HoopsHype’s Global Rating metric. Through the first 10 days of the preseason, Celtics guard Hugo Gonzalez tops the ranking, ahead of Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon, Portland Trail Blazers star Deni Avdija, teammate Luka Garza and Toronto Raptors forward RJ Barrett. HoopsHype’s Global Rating blends individual stats, team strength and the quality of competition, though the article notes it’s based on a small sample. In two preseason games, Gonzalez is averaging 16.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 23.7 minutes with elite shooting.
