Chair demands Infantino release World Cup sell-off documents

FIFA president Gianni Infantino has been ordered to release documents tied to his aborted plan to sell a stake in World Cup commercial rights, after a letter from Football Association chair Debbie Hewitt was sent to FIFA’s leadership. Hewitt said the FIFA Council should also receive an explanation for the cancelled suspension of US forward Folarin Balogun ahead of the Council meeting on 15 October. The pressure comes as UEFA prepares criminal proceedings in three US courts over the FFE proposal. Infantino, 56, faces a March re-election; opponents have until 18 November for an alternative candidate.
