Crowds expected to gather in Decatur to watch FIFA finale
Crowds are expected to gather in Decatur for WatchFest viewing events ahead of the FIFA World Cup championship match. The event, held at Decatur Square, ran for 34 days and featured free daily outdoor screenings, live music, food trucks, giveaways, and other family-friendly activities for local residents and visitors. Sunday afternoon is the peak time for the championship viewing, with organizers expecting spectators to come together to watch. World Cup celebrations extend beyond Decatur as well, with a separate event at Piedmont Park in Midtown called “A Celebration of Soccer & Sound.” That party begins at 11 a.m., while the championship match is scheduled for 3 p.m. and a hometown performer, rapper Ludacris, is set to take the stage at 6 p.m. in Atlanta, Georgia.
