Donald Trump Defends Infantino And Warns FIFA!

Donald Trump has come out in support of FIFA President Gianni Infantino after the fallout from FIFA’s plans to involve private investors in World Cup financing. Reports cited the Financial Times and The Times said FIFA was considering boosting football development funding to more than $10 billion via outside investment—an idea opposed by UEFA, Concacaf and the AFC. FIFA senior leaders later reaffirmed support for Infantino, though FIFA secretary general Marias Grafström acknowledged the FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE) plan was a mistake. Trump warned that replacing Infantino would be “a terrible mistake,” referencing his role in the most successful World Cup yet, term-limited to 2027, with a bid to 2031.
