EFIBA World Finals Qatar Season 4 tips off in Doha
The eFIBA World Finals Qatar Season 4 tipped off in Doha, Qatar, marking the start of an event jointly run by the FIBA Basketball World Cup Qatar 2027 Local Organizing Committee, FIBA and the Qatar Esports Federation. The competition runs at the Mall of Qatar over two days, with the program positioned as part of the wider preparations for the 2027 basketball showcase in Doha from August 27 to September 12, 2027. Eight national teams compete, divided into Group A—Algeria, France, Germany and the Philippines—and Group B—Qatar, the Dominican Republic, Lebanon and Türkiye. Each team fields five players for 40 athletes total. Day 1 includes group-stage matches such as France vs Philippines and Germany vs Algeria, followed by a knockout stage later that day, while the second day covers the final rounds and the championship game. The total prize pool is $50,000, with $20,000 to the champions. The United States won the prior in-person eFIBA Season 2 World Finals in Jönköping, Sweden, and Season 3 in Clark, Philippines.
