English football's most memorable bans as Chelsea winger Mudryk cleared to play

Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has been cleared to return to football after his doping ban was resolved. The 25-year-old was suspended in November 2024 following a failed drugs test in which low concentrations of meldonium were found in his sample. Mudryk appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and, after the case was completed, was allowed to resume playing. In the interim, World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) procedural changes mean he would not have faced charges if the same result had occurred under current rules. He’s now set to return to Chelsea after a long absence.
