Field Level Media Top 25: No. 1 Florida

Field Level Media’s preseason Top 25 poll for the 2026-27 men’s college basketball season puts Florida at No. 1. The Gators posted a 27-8 record in 2025-26 and return four of five starters after going 16-2 in the Southeastern Conference and earning a second straight No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The outlook hinges on Alex Condon (15.1 points, 7.5 rebounds), Thomas Haugh (17.1 points, 6.1 rebounds) and SEC Defensive Player of the Year Rueben Chinyelu (10.9 points, 11.2 rebounds). Florida’s key early tests include a ranked trip to play Miami in Tampa on Nov. 2 and a home game vs. Duke on Dec. 1.
