Former 49ers Starting RB Gets Tryout With Saints

Former San Francisco 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell worked out with the New Orleans Saints on Wednesday, September 30, as he searches for another path back into the NFL. Mitchell was one of seven free agents to take part in the workout, along with Ulysses Bentley IV, Hassan Haskins, Vincent Anthony, Jesse Luketa, David Ojabo and Julian Okwara, according to the NFL transaction wire. As of Wednesday night, New Orleans had not announced a deal and there was no subsequent signing on its transaction log. The tryout comes after Mitchell left San Francisco following the 2024 season, including brief stops with Kansas City, New England, and Philadelphia.
