Good News Emerges Between OKC Thunder And Cason Wallace Contract Talks
The Oklahoma City Thunder and Cason Wallace have opened contract-extension talks, offering a potential path to keep the two-way guard in OKC ahead of the 2026-2027 season. Reporting for Stein Line, Marc Stein said the starting figures being discussed are around $25 million per year, referencing comparable deals for guards Dyson Daniels and Christian Braun. The central question, according to the report, is whether Wallace’s camp can push his average annual value beyond that $25 million baseline. If no extension is reached by the October 19 deadline, Wallace could reach restricted free agency in summer 2027, when outside offers are expected to exceed $30 million annually. Last season, Wallace averaged 8.6 points and 1.95 steals across 77 games, including a 17-point, five-3’s Game 7 vs. San Antonio in the Western Conference Finals.
