Influencer Denied Boarding Over Allegedly 'Naked' Attire
A German fitness influencer, Edda Elisa Pilz, said Lufthansa denied her boarding on a flight from Berlin to Austria after a gate agent allegedly told her she looked “naked.” She described the incident as occurring during a European heatwave with temperatures around 30°C, when she wore a bra-style crop top and athletic shorts. After scanning her boarding pass, she was allegedly stopped because her clothing was considered inappropriate, and although she retrieved a jacket from her carry-on, the agent reportedly refused to let her proceed until it was fully zipped to cover her top. Pilz posted her frustration online and argued that while she accepts dress rules, the way they were enforced was sexist. Lufthansa launched an internal investigation and said its wording, including the term “naked,” did not meet company standards, while defending enforcement of baseline codes.
