Iowa State Football Will Catch a Huge Break With BYU Injuries

Iowa State heads into Week 6 of the 2026 college football season with a difficult road test at BYU in Provo, Utah on Friday night. BYU is ranked No. 8 nationally and enters the game after a tough loss to TCU in Fort Worth, holding a 2-0 record in Big 12 play. Iowa State is 1-1 in conference and 3-2 overall. The matchup’s key factor in the article is that BYU won’t be at full strength. The Cougars will be without leading rusher LJ Martin, ruled out with a lower-leg and right ankle injury after TCU, who had 44 carries for 344 yards and three touchdowns. BYU also sits Sione Moa and linebacker Isaiah Glasker. Iowa State, meanwhile, is listed missing Drew Surges, Caden Crawford, and Ka’Mori Moore.
