It's official: Commanders, Washington, DC. to host 2027 NFL Draft
Washington, D.C. has been confirmed as the host city for the 2027 NFL Draft, with the Commanders serving as the official host team. The league set the three-day event to begin Thursday night, April 29, and continue Friday night, April 30, before ending Saturday afternoon, May 1. Round 1 will be held on Thursday, rounds 2 and 3 on Friday, and rounds 4 through 7 on Saturday. According to the announcement, the draft will be conducted on the National Mall, with television coverage anchored in the area in front of the Capitol building. The NFL Draft Experience is scheduled to run along Pennsylvania Avenue between 3rd and 7th streets. The plan was initially announced locally on May 5, 2025, by President Donald Trump, alongside NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, Commanders majority owner Josh Harris, and D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser. Washington last hosted the NFL Draft in 1941.
