Jack Trice Stadium kicks off with Iowa State football, beer sales
Jack Trice Stadium opened its gates at 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 5 for Iowa State’s 2026 season opener against Southeast Missouri State—also marking the start of alcohol sales at the venue. Fans 21 and older can buy beer inside the stadium, with refrigerators stocked with Busch Light, Coors Light, Michelob Ultra and other options. The changes include identification checks, a limit of two alcoholic drinks per transaction, and the abolition of the re-entry policy, meaning fans cannot leave and return during the game. Beer costs $10.99 for 16-ounce cans of domestic beer, while 16-ounce premium beers and Carbliss ready-to-drink cocktails are $11.99. Iowa State, which also sells in-state with Northern Iowa, Drake and Iowa, follows a trend: USA TODAY data says 88% of FBS schools had stadium-wide alcohol sales in 2023.
