Jordan Davis could see an expanded role on the Eagles' defense

The Philadelphia Eagles could expand Jordan Davis’s role on defense, particularly on third down, according to coach Vic Fangio. With Jalen Carter and Moro Ojomo handling key snaps on the interior defensive line, and Byron Young also contributing, playing time has been balanced among multiple players. Fangio said Wednesday that Davis is “very capable of playing more,” noting Philadelphia had only four or five third-and-ones and fourth-and-ones the other day, which limits opportunities. The expectation is not that Davis becomes a constant feature on every third-down package, but that he could be used more as a situational option. Fangio also suggested Clint Hurtt would help balance distribution.
