Justin McBride calls it a dream to be at Kentucky: 'I never thought I'd be here.'
Justin McBride’s dream to play at Kentucky is being treated as both personal and plausible in the Wildcats’ offseason plans. McBride told BBN Tonight that he “never thought” he would be at UK, but that the opportunity arrived and he “took full advantage of it.” His path to Louisville?—or rather Kentucky—was nontraditional: after being ranked outside the top 100 recruits in the class of 2023, he committed to Oklahoma State over Arkansas, Missouri, and Texas Tech. He transferred to Nevada as a sophomore, then moved to James Madison as a junior where he averaged 15.3 points and 5.6 rebounds, earning All-Sun Belt Third Team honors. Early summer practice has him competing at the four spot, with reports already highlighting his offensive versatility, including 40% three-point shooting at JMU.
