Lane Kiffin provides injury update on LSU football QB Sam Leavitt
Lane Kiffin provides injury update on LSU football QB Sam Leavitt as LSU took part in SEC Media Days on Thursday. Kiffin, joined by Trey’Dez Green, Whit Weeks, and TJ Dottery, said Leavitt remained in Baton Rouge practicing with the team after missing the media-day appearance. The LSU quarterback transferred from Arizona State, where he ranked as the top QB in the transfer portal and helped lead the Sun Devils to a College Football Playoff appearance in 2024. Leavitt brings 20 career starts and saw his 2025 season cut short by a foot injury. Kiffin said he has “great confidence” in Leavitt’s health, citing how Leavitt has approached rehab and has been learning the playbook. The update matters as LSU seeks to rebound offensively heading into the 2026 season.
