Why Lane Kiffin, college football's most famous poster, says he gave up social media centers on his decision to step away from Instagram and X. Speaking Thursday at SEC media days, the first-year LSU coach said he has not posted on Instagram in more than two months and has largely stayed off an app formerly known as Twitter since mid-May. Kiffin attributed the change to his son, Knox, who challenged him this spring to avoid social media. “I just got off of everything,” Kiffin said, adding he removed the apps so he does not read posts. He previously posted regularly, from recruiting stops to graphics and book excerpts, and his activity often fueled message boards. By not using the platforms, he said he avoids constant comparisons and the stream of commentary about his departure from Ole Miss. He said he has no long-term plan to return and has not indicated when he might resume posting.
