Live: NC State up big on Cal in first game since Doeren's firing

NC State played its first game since firing head coach Dave Doeren on Oct. 24 and took control early against Cal at Raleigh. Interim coach Todd Goebbel led the Wolfpack as they built a 21-0 lead after halftime and entered the fourth quarter up by three touchdowns. CJ Bailey delivered two touchdown throws, including a long strike to Deandre Desinor on the first drive, while Kanoah Vinesett added a 43-yard field goal. Cal responded with a 30-yard TD pass from Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele to Chase Hendricks and scored again late in the second quarter. Bailey later connected with Chance Robinson for a 38-yard TD, with NC State adding scores from Darius Johnson and Davion Gause. The 3-4 team needs three wins in its final five games for a 12th bowl appearance in 13 years.
