Liverpool pay tribute to Diogo Jota, Andre Silva on first death anniversary - The Tribune
Liverpool marked the first anniversary of the deaths of former Portugal forward Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva with a memorial at Anfield. On July 3, the Premier League club posted on X to remember the two brothers, saying their legacy continues despite the loss felt by families, friends, and supporters. The club described their impact both on and off the pitch and said it continues to offer support to those affected. Liverpool also unveiled a permanent memorial titled “Forever 20” on the eve of the anniversary, installed at 97 Avenue outside Anfield, where supporters gathered last year to leave flowers, scarves, banners, and tributes. Jota and Silva died in a car crash in northwestern Spain on July 3, 2025, after their Lamborghini left the road and caught fire, according to Reuters. Liverpool reiterated “Forever our number 20” in its message.
