Michigan football survey results: Fans share thoughts on Bryce Underwood, Jason Beck, more
Michigan’s bye week followed a 3-2 start, and the program commissioned a fan survey to gauge sentiment about the Kyle Whittingham era. The poll collected 4,712 form submissions and 1,711 written comments, with voting running Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning. Results show Michigan fans are split but not ready for a wholesale change: only 12% voted to replace Whittingham as head coach, while 19.4% said it’s too early. Confidence in a turnaround is low, with just 13.1% expressing high or very high confidence. Fans also diverged on the offense, with 34.9% wanting a change at offensive coordinator (Jason Beck) and 32.6% at quarterback, referencing Bryce Underwood. In written feedback, Underwood was the most mentioned name (29%), and fans blamed offensive scheme/playcalling (70.1%) most for struggles, though quarterback play also drew substantial concern.
