Mizzou Football's Most Important Players: No. 6 Cayden Green
Missouri Tigers’ 2026 outlook spotlights left tackle Cayden Green as its No. 6 most important player, emphasizing his role as a stabilizing anchor on the offensive line. Last season, Green protected the blind side for quarterbacks Beau Pribula and Matt Zollers, but this year he is expected to block for transfer Austin Simmons. Green will play left tackle with Josh Atkins of Arizona State on the right side, while Dominick Giudice, Curtis Peagler and others handle interior duties. His impact is tied to run support and pass protection, highlighted by a top-20 national run-blocking grade from Pro Football Focus. When Green went down, Missouri’s offensive line saw a clear drop after Jayven Richardson replaced him. The Tigers will need Green’s health throughout 2026 to support Simmons and a backfield that could include Ahmad Hardy, Jamal Roberts and Xai’Shauun Edwards.
