Multiple NFL QBs workout at Oceanside Collegiate Academy (S.C.)
Multiple NFL quarterbacks trained together at Oceanside Collegiate Academy in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, ahead of training camps opening around the league. The session was publicized in a social media post by the school, which said three current quarterbacks worked out on campus recently. Drake Maye of the New England Patriots, Sam Howell of the Dallas Cowboys, and Sam Hartman of the Washington Commanders were the players involved, with Hartman listed as an Oceanside alum.
Oceanside’s post also highlighted Maye’s high school career and college production. Maye played at Myers Park in North Carolina, finishing a senior season 12–1 and reaching the third round of the NCHSAA Class 4AA playoffs. The 6-foot-4, 223-pound quarterback completed 210 of 290 passes for 3,512 yards, with 50 touchdowns and two interceptions in 2019, then totaled 8,018 yards and 63 touchdowns at North Carolina from 2021–23. Last year, he threw for 4,394 yards and 31 touchdowns, finishing second in MVP balloting behind Matthew Stafford.
Howell joined the Cowboys in March, and the article notes his last extensive playing time came in 2023 with Washington, when he totaled 3,946 yards and 21 touchdowns. Hartman signed with Washington in 2024 as an undrafted player and has primarily served as a backup. Oceanside is described as a public charter school for grades 9–12 with about 650 students.
