xCruzo Brief
Zion Williamson scored 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, but it was the Pelicans’ overtime finish that swung the game Monday night. Jeremiah Fears hit two late free throws as New Orleans edged the host Memphis Grizzlies 135-134 for Memphis’ first loss of the season. Fears put the Pelicans ahead with 7.3 seconds left, but Ty Jerome missed a 15-foot attempt for the win after scoring the final nine points of regulation to force OT. Jerome finished with 40 points and ended Memphis’ six-game winning streak to open the year. In other NBA action, Sacramento beat Dallas 115-100, Los Angeles defeated Miami 138-117, Oklahoma City topped Cleveland 117-112, and Detroit routed Charlotte 124-91.
