NFL Draft Watch: Evaluating Prospects in Week 5

This “NFL Draft Watch” examines Week 5 prospects ahead of the 2027 NFL Draft, arguing that the evaluation calendar can quickly date preseason boards and that “risers” earn new scouting attention. The article spotlights offensive tackle Cayden Green (Missouri), a 6'5”, 324-lb prospect who impressed in pass protection with quick first steps, active hands, and strength that helps him “lock up” defenders, with only some limitations as a run blocker. It also reviews Miami quarterback Darian Mensah, noting calm pocket presence, pocket manipulation, athleticism for a touchdown run, and an arm that can reach deeper throws despite needing a more consistent base for improved throws. A third prospect, offensive tackle Samson Okunlola (Miami, listed at 6'6”, 330 lbs), is introduced as a rising player moving from guard to left tackle, but the article truncates before details are finished.
