NFL roster cuts: Teams get down to 53 players

Teams had until 6 p.m. Sunday to reduce NFL rosters to 53 players, with announcements coming throughout the day. The Indianapolis Colts released defensive tackle Colby Wooden and running back Ulysses Bentley IV. Wooden, 25, was acquired from the Green Bay Packers in March and totaled 87 tackles in 47 games (17 starts) over three seasons in Green Bay. Cincinnati plans to release wide receiver/kick returner Charlie Jones, 27, who averaged 25.8 yards on 42 kickoff returns in 2025, including a 98-yard touchdown, and also averaged 8.8 yards on 13 punt returns while seeing limited action at wide receiver. The Las Vegas Raiders traded center Jordan Meredith to the New York Jets for a sixth-round pick in 2027, while New York sends a seventh-round pick in 2029. Raiders edge rusher Cian Slone was released, and the Titans will release guard Cordell Volson after signing him in March.
