NFL's Calais Campbell's mother killed in Buckhead: 911 call released
Atlanta police released a 911 call and a mugshot tied to the Buckhead homicide investigation involving the mother of former Atlanta Falcons defensive lineman Calais Campbell. In Fulton County, Georgia, the man charged in the case waived his first court appearance on Thursday morning. Family members identified the victim as Nateal Campbell, while Fulton County Jail records list the suspect as Ciarre Campbell, her son, though Atlanta police had not officially released both identities. Police said officers responded Tuesday afternoon to a welfare check at Habersham Townhomes after a concerned family member reported that a man barricaded himself inside. Authorities found a 71-year-old woman dead and detained the man at the scene. The suspect faces charges including murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and weapons-related counts, and the investigation remains ongoing.
