North Augusta football beats South Aiken with late-game field goal in defensive battle

North Augusta escaped with a 10-7 win over South Aiken on Oct. 16 in a defensive, special-teams-heavy battle decided late. Kicker Jacob DeGennaro delivered a go-ahead field goal in the fourth quarter to give the Jackets the narrow victory. With the result, North Augusta stayed undefeated in region play with two games remaining. The game featured few offensive breakthroughs: early drives stalled until North Augusta took a lead on a 10-yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Collin Tillman to senior wide receiver Jeremiah Brown. South Aiken answered after halftime when running back Drelyn Brown scored from 60 yards to tie it. A second half marked by penalties kept momentum swings tight.
