NOTHING BUT GREEN: Week 8 high school football picks

Week 8 high school football picks from The Oklahoman’s “NOTHING BUT GREEN” column combine forecasts with a behind-the-scenes story about press-box space. The writer says last week finished 7-1 and sits at 47-11 overall, then recounts covering Verdigris vs. Bristow in Bristow with rain expected, only to find no room for media in the press box—leading him to write from the bleachers until a light mist held off the worst of it. Games to watch include CLAREMORE 62, Memorial 2, citing Memorial being outscored 386-20 and averaging 2.9 points while allowing 55.1. The other pick shown is SKIATOOK 49, Oologah 17, noting Skiatook’s record and Oologah’s losses.
