NFL owners unanimously approved on Wednesday the $9.612 billion sale of the Seattle Seahawks to Vinod Khosla and his family, who are currently part owners of the San Francisco 49ers. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell congratulated the family, calling the timing “great,” as the franchise comes off its second Super Bowl victory. The sales agreement was announced July 11 and awaited approval at a special owners meeting in Atlanta to become official, following the wishes of late owner Paul Allen. Vinod Khosla thanked Jody Allen and the Allen Trust for trusting them. Separately, the New York Giants said wide receiver Calvin Austin tore the ACL in his right knee and is expected to miss the season.
